DMZ 1 DAY TOUR
Trip code: VCH2
Starting at 7.30 am from your hotel in Hue, we’ll take you in our mini-van for DMZ tour today. The Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone was established as a result of Geneva Treaty after the First Indochina War to separate the North territory from the South territory.
We will stop first at Ben Hai river to take some photos of the famous Hien Luong bridge. We also spend some time to take a look at a small museum nearby. Then, we go on to visit Vinh Moc tunnels. Being called the “Demilitarized Zone”, however, the area was heavily bombed. Unlike Cu Chi tunnels, this system of tunnels worked as shelters for the local people. We will have lunch in Dong Hoi town, and then continue to Khe Sanh combat base, a United State outpost in former South Vietnam. The battle of Khe Sanh (77 days, from 21st of January to 8th of April, 1968) was diversionary tactic of Democratic Republic of Vietnam’ Army (former name of Vietnam nowadays) in their effort to conduct the Tet Offensive.
The road back to Hue includes Ho Chi Minh Trail, Rock Pile, Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group’s village. The tour finishes in the late afternoon.
