NORTHERN HIGHLIGHTS

 

Day 1: Hanoi (D)

We’ll meet you at Noi Bai airport in Ha Noi - flight details to be advised. Before heading into town, you can change your dollars into dong at the airport currency exchange bureau. Afterwards, we’ll transfer you to your hotel.

 

The rest of the day would be at your leisure. We’ll spend few minutes to go through our itinerary before we go out to dinner in one of our chosen restaurants.

 

Day 2: Hanoi (B & L)

Starting at 8.30 am from your hotel, our guide will take your first to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (closed on Monday & Friday and from October to December) then Presidential complex including Uncle Ho’ stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh museum, and Temple of Literature. For lunch, we will take you to one of our recommendation for local food. After that, you’ll go to Ha Noi Hilton (Hoa Lo prison museum) and then the Museum of Ethnology. The tour will be finished at your hotel after an hour cyclo ride in the Old Quarter and Water Puppet show.

 

Day 3: Ha Long (B, L & D)

In the morning, you’ll be picked up at your hotel at 8.30 am by your guide and will go on our air-con mini-van to Ha Long Bay. 3.5 hours of driving will take you through one of the most picturesque countryside of Vietnam.

 

Upon your arrival, we will board our new sailing boat and heading out into Ha Long Bay - in local legend, the creation of a great dragon. A seafood lunch will be served on board while we sailing around the bay. You’ll visit one of the many beautiful caves in Ha Long and then you can just relax and take in the spectacular scenery in one of our chairs on deck. Lots of swimming in the late afternoon before you can lazy yourselves in one of our chairs on deck to watch the sun go down behind the mountains. Dinner in twinkling light will finish our lovely day. Twin shared cabin with western toilet and air-con on board will be our place for the night.

 

Day 4: Ha Long to Hanoi onto Sa Pa (B & L)

In the morning, you’ll have a great breakfast on board and start a different way back to the harbor. We’ll stop for one last swim on the way over & then you’ll have lunch in a nice air-con restaurant before heading back to Hanoi. You’ll arrive at your hotel at approx 5.30 PM.

 

You should stock up some snack or have early dinner before we board our overnight train to Sa Pa.

 

Day 5: Sa Pa (B)

An early get up will be our fist job for the day. The train will stop in Lao Cai and then bus to Sa Pa. You will have the whole morning to refresh and simply just have another sleep in a proper warm and soft bed. In the afternoon, we will take 3 hours walk to Cat Cat village, home of H’Mong people. Terrace paddy fields, the old French hydro power station and the local’s home will be our main stop. Make sure that you charge your camera’s battery as we will have a lot of photo opportunity.

 

Day 6: Sa Pa to Hanoi (B & L)

The morning is free for you to explore the local market before we take a walk to Lao Chai and Ta Van village. Locating in Golden Stream valley, Lao Chai and Ta Van is the home of Dzay and H’Mong people. Our guide will step behind so you can have a chance to interact with the local people there. We will have picnic lunch by the stream before we cross the famous Bamboo bridge for our bus ride back to town. Tonight we will have another train trip back to Hanoi.

 

Day 7: Hanoi

Our bus will pick you up at the train station and take you to the hotel or straight to the airport for your flight back home. Please let us know your flight details so we can take the most advantage of your time in Hanoi.
