Trip code: VNS1

Day 1: Overnight train to Lao Cai

7.30pm: Transfer to Hanoi train station.

Day 2: Sa Pa

Early arrival in Lao Cai train station. Our bus driver will pick you up and take you up hill to Sa Pa which would be a little over an hour, giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Our guide will meet you at the hotel to briefly explain about the program and suggest some restaurants for lunch and dinner.

We will have a free morning for you to sleep in or walk around town. As a hill town, Sa Pa is a home of ethnic people like Black H’Mong, Red Dzao, Zday … and make sure that you visit the local market, a good chance to have some interaction with the locals.

In the afternoon, we will take a short walk to Cat Cat village, home of Black H’Mong people. It is 3 hours of dirt road, up and down with lots of photos. You can have your first shopping in small shops which are set up next to the hydro power station built by the French in early 20th century. Our guide will be more than happy to recommend some restaurants serving delicious local food.

Day 3: Sa Pa onto Hanoi (B & L)

In the morning, start trekking (4hrs) down the valley along local trails and across rice paddies to visit Black Hmong and Dzay ethnic minority communities. A picnic lunch will be prepared by the stream before we take another short walk over the famous Bamboo bridge for our jeep ride back to town. Our bus departs Sa Pa at 4.30 pm to Lao Cai train station for another overnight train back to Hanoi.
