Day 1: Hanoi

We’ll meet you at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi - flight details to be advised. Before heading into town, you can change your dollars into dong at the airport currency exchange bureau. Afterwards, we’ll transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. We’ll spend few minutes to go through our itinerary before we go out to dinner in one of our recommended restaurants.

Note: If you arrive early in Hanoi, we can organize an option of half day Hanoi City tour. Bookings in advance are required.

Day 2 - 3: Ha Long Bay

After breakfast, we’ll leave the busy Hanoi behind for Ha Long bay (4 hours drive). We’ll board our private boat and head out into the bay. Lunch will be on the boat while we cruise through the spectacular scenery of thousands of limestone karsts and isles of various sizes and shapes. There are opportunities to visit one of its beautiful limestone caves and swim in this World Heritage site’s emerald water. We’ll spend the night of day 3 on our boat.

In the morning of day 4, we cruise back to the habour and bus back to Hanoi. You can spend the rest of the day exploring Hanoi before we catch the Unification Express overnight train to Hue.

Day 4 - 5: Hue

We arrive in Hue early this morning. Very different from Hanoi, life in this former capital of Vietnam is very quite and peaceful. With 2 days here, we can visit lots of places such as the Purple Forbidden City, the famous Thien Mu pagoda, one of the Nguyen Dynasty Emperor’s tombs and a Dragon boat trip in Perfume River. We also have a chance to taste a vegetarian lunch cooked by nuns in Duc Son pagoda which works as an orphanage, a home for nearly 200 babies and children.

Day 6 - 7: Hoi An

After a nice brekkie, you’ll need to leave Hue by about 8.30 AM. We’ll head down to Lang Co beach and then over the Hai Van pass, onto Da Nang. You’ll arrive in Hoi An in the afternoon.

Locating on the Cui river, Hoi An was known to early western merchant as a main trading port in South-East Asia. The architecture is a mixture of Japanese, Chinese, French and Vietnamese. A strange mix but beautiful nonetheless. Don’t forget to pop into any one of the dozens of tailor shops to get them started on all your new outfits!

In the morning of day 7, we’ll be off for an orientation walk in the Old Town. Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, Tan Ky Old House and Vietnam handicraft workshop with traditional music are the main attractions of the town. The afternoon is free for you enjoy the fabulous Hoi An town. You can do some shopping or relax at the beach. If you’ve ordered clobber, you’ll have time for a final fitting in the afternoon and then in the evening you’ll be able to collect your new clothes from the tailor. For dinner on day 5, we’ll join a 5 courses cooking class with Vietnamese cuisine. It’s a great fun too.

Day 8 - 10: Ho Chi Minh City

Leaving Hoi An behind, we’ll take s short flight to busy Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, we’ll take a tour around the city including entrance to War Remnant Museum and Unification Palace. Starting early in the morning of day 9, we take a day trip to My Tho where we board our private boat for a cruise to the four beautiful Islets (Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise and Phoenix) on the Mekong River. We continue our journey from here by rowboat and stop in on a local family of beekeepers who make honey from longan flowers. Later, we walk through an off-the-beaten-track village and stop at some local houses to experience the everyday life of Mekong locals, usually hidden from the outside world.

Here, you'll also have a chance to try some local specialties for lunch before returning to Ho Chi Minh City for an afternoon of last-minute shopping and sightseeing before our final night's dinner.
