CU CHI TUNNELS
Trip code: VSC1
You will be picked up at your hotel at 8.00 am for our half day tour to Cu Chi. Started in 1948, during French war, Cu Chi played an important role as a stronghold for Viet Cong during the Vietnam war. 250 km long, 9 meters deep underground, the tunnels covered a wide area of 200 kilometers. There, you will have a chance to see a documentary film about the life and how they dug the tunnels before we see the real ones. 2 hours of walking will give you a overview ot the harshness of this conflict with the peace loving Vietnamese people during the war with the Americans. The guerrillas lived and fought in a very hard condition to protect every single meter. There is still the real tunnels system, sample of traps, firing range (AK 47 is the most popular)… You can also try to go down to a short tunnel (westernized one). Your guide will give you further information about the area. You will be back to Ho Chi Minh city around lunch time.
